The much anticipated upgrade and refurbishment of Stanley's Camp has been completed.
Luxurious tents at Stanley's Camp have been raised onto wooden decking, offering expansive views across the floodplain. Hammocks on the decks, a new addition, are perfect for relaxation in the tranquil bush surroundings.
In the en-suite bathrooms, glass shower units have replaced canvas screens. Moulton & Brown amenities are provided to pamper and rejuvenate after an activity-filled day.
The wooden flooring provides warmth to the tent interiors that is further enhanced by the corn coloured scatters with silver leaf detail on the beds.
An invertor system ensures 24-hour power supply, and a new generator operates on a much quieter level. The invertor system will also ensure fully lit pathways. There are now plug points in all rooms, and hairdryers are available upon request.
The summer heat is made bearable by colonial paddle fans, while the new pool will be perfect for cooling down. The swimming pool is due for completion at the beginning of October, and will feature wooden decking for private sunbathing.
The upgrade and refurbishment has elevated Stanley's to a new level of luxury without detracting from the tranquil surroundings. Guests may enjoy the variety of activities, such as the unique elephant interaction, guided walks, mokoro excursions and night drives, while being hosted in colonial African style.
The community on NG 32 have affirmed their faith in Sanctuary Lodges by re-awarding a five-year tenure to operate Stanley's Camp on the concession. NG 32 is a private concession managed by a Community Board made up of members from 6 communities surrounding the concession. NG 32 is a community based natural resource management area (CBNRM). This is a government policy whereby land management is awarded to the people. The tenure has given Sanctuary Lodges the opportunity to strengthen the established relationship with the Community Board and the staff from the communities.
