December 2004 Chief's Camp airstrip upgrade
CHIEF'S CAMP AIRSTRIP UPGRADE
 December 2004: An upgrade to Chief's Camp's private airstrip has commenced on 07 December 2004, which includes a re-surfacing of the airstrip and the build up of the airstrip to remain above flood levels. Work is scheduled to be complete by the end of January 2005.
Due to the nature of work being done, the airstrip will be closed between 10 and 15 January 2005. During this period, guests will be flown to / from the Mombo airstrip and will enjoy a 1 hour scenic game drive to Chief's Camp in a 4X4 vehicle.
